Export Respondents: Download a Raw Data File to Review Your Lead Data

Who can export: All Ion users can export respondent data and they can be set up with the permission to download CSV files with global raw respondent data.

• Across the console: Integrations needs to be checked under Data management on the user settings screen. The user can then open Data Management > Integrations from the left-hand menu and select Export global respondents.
• For one portfolio or campaign: the user opens that item and selects Actions > Export respondents. The checkmark for Integrations on the user settings screen or a Manager role are not required.

If an export action is not shown, contact Ion Support. This article covers downloaded CSV files, not respondent answers viewed through Ask Ion.

Download respondents across the console

1. Ask a Console Owner to give the user Integrations access using one of these two paths:
   • Individual access: open Settings > Accounts, select the user, find Individual feature & portfolio permissions > Data management, select Integrations, and save.
   • Permission Group access: open Settings > Permission Groups, select the group, select Integrations under Data management, and save. Then open Settings > Accounts, select the user, choose Editor or Manager for that Permission Group, and save.
2. Sign in as the user who will export the file.
3. Open Data Management > Integrations.
4. Select Export global respondents.
5. Leave Include only converted respondents selected, or clear it to include all respondents.
6. Enter the From start date and To end date, then select Export.
7. The export is queued and runs in the background. You can leave the page.
8. When the file is ready, Ion emails the address on your user account. The subject starts with Your global respondents export is ready and ends with the file name. Select the link in that email to download the CSV. The link works for 48 hours.
9. You can also download the file from the Recent exports list on the same page, which shows each request as Queued, Running, Ready or Failed. The file name appears once the export is Ready, and after 48 hours it shows Link expired and you run the export again.
10. If the export cannot be completed, Ion emails you to say so and no file is produced.

Download respondents from one portfolio or campaign

1. Open the portfolio or campaign you want to export.
2. Open Actions and select Export respondents.
3. Leave Include only converted respondents selected, or clear it to include all respondents.
4. Choose the date range. On a portfolio export, you can select Entire period instead.
5. Select Export.
6. When the file is ready, select the generated filename to download the CSV.
