Use this checklist before opening a campaign URL to real traffic. Adjust it for the experience, data collected, integrations, legal requirements, and launch risk.
1. Confirm ownership and launch scope
- Confirm the owner, approver, launch window, traffic source, audience, success metric, and rollback contact.
- Confirm the correct portfolio, campaign, creative, brand space, domain, framework, theme, and environment.
- Freeze unrelated edits during final QA and save a current Creative Studio version before launch.
2. Review content and experience behavior
- Proofread every page, responsive view, personalization variant, error state, confirmation message, email, and downloadable file.
- Verify navigation, deep links, buttons, forms, calculations, rules, reveals, lightboxes, flows, tabs, accordions, videos, and external links.
- Use Preview for end-to-end behavior and Proof for consolidated content review. Confirm the correct landing page and page order.
- Check keyboard navigation, focus order, labels, alt text, contrast, captions, and zoom behavior.
3. Validate data, conversion, and integrations
- Submit representative tests for required, optional, invalid, duplicate, and edge-case values.
- Confirm each form field writes to the intended data field and that choice values, hidden fields, calculations, tags, and query-string parameters are correct.
- Confirm the intended rule action marks the respondent as converted and that conversion reporting matches the launch goal.
- Verify integrations, notifications, fulfillment emails, exports, webhooks, CRM/MAP records, deduplication, consent fields, and failure handling.
- Remove test respondents only when authorized and confirm production retention requirements before deletion.
4. Check privacy, security, and SEO
- Collect only approved data; verify privacy copy, consent behavior, cookie controls, retention, and legal links.
- Remove credentials, secrets, personal test data, internal URLs, and debugging code from pages, scripts, files, and query strings.
- For indexable experiences, verify page titles, descriptions, canonical URLs, share content, and sitemap treatment. For non-indexable experiences, set the intended Robots meta directives.
5. Check responsive behavior and performance
- Test representative desktop, tablet, and mobile widths plus supported browsers and real devices when risk warrants it.
- Optimize images and animation, limit render-blocking third-party scripts, and test the first page on a realistic network.
- Confirm no horizontal overflow, clipped controls, unreadable text, layout shifts, broken media, or inaccessible tap targets.
6. Configure and test the traffic source
- Publish the approved creative, then create or review the campaign URL’s domain, path, media category, fallback URL, test group, and creative weights.
- Verify HTTPS and the intended public hostname. Confirm redirects preserve or intentionally remove paths and query strings.
- Test UTM and other query parameters, campaign URL open/close behavior, scheduled dates and time zone, and what visitors see when no creative is available.
7. Launch and verify
- Open or schedule the URL only after approval. Test the public URL in a clean browser and on a mobile device.
- Complete one controlled live submission and verify the respondent, conversion, integrations, notifications, analytics, and downstream record.
- Monitor the agreed launch metrics and error channels. If a stop condition is met, close the URL or restore the approved version and traffic configuration.
Keep the launch approval, tested URL, version, test evidence, and rollback decision together so the launch can be audited and repeated safely.
