{"id":2956,"date":"2023-02-09T13:38:03","date_gmt":"2023-02-09T13:38:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/obo.zoj.mybluehost.me\/uncategorized\/glossary-of-common-terms\/"},"modified":"2023-12-08T21:33:33","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T21:33:33","slug":"glossary-of-common-terms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ioninteractive.com\/ionacademy\/glossary-of-common-terms\/","title":{"rendered":"Glossary of common terms"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3><strong>Setup\/Page Creation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>3rd Party Script<\/strong>: Javascript from a vendor outside of ion typically used for tracking purposes;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Asset<\/strong>: Creative images (i.e. logos) that can be incorporated into Ion;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campaign<\/strong>: Folder in Ion where creatives are stored in- immediately below the portfolio level;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Component<\/strong>: Pre-built interactive elements that can be added to your Ion pages;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Container<\/strong>: Element into where the content is placed in;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Content Variable<\/strong>: Syntax used to dynamically insert content into a page or script from data that has been collected;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Creative<\/strong>: Compilation of Ion pages that make up your landing experience \u2013 immediately below the campaign level;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Creative Studio<\/strong>: The place where you add or edit the content on your page;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deep Links<\/strong>: Web address of internal pages within your creative aside from the initial landing page. Typically used to drive traffic to targeted pages within a microsite;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dynamic Substitution<\/strong>: The ability to substitute elements in your Ion landing experience based on a user condition;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fulfillment<\/strong>: Item that respondents receive after taking a desired action in your creative;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Global Library<\/strong>: Central location where content is stored and managed (i.e. images, scripts, fulfillment items, etc.);<\/p>\n<p><strong>Master Page<\/strong>: Template-based layout used to build creatives;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meta Tags<\/strong>: Element that provides metadata about your landing page to search engines (i.e. title at the top of browser window);<\/p>\n<p><strong>Micro-Themes<\/strong>: On-brand style variations available within a theme that can be applied to specific elements;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Portfolio<\/strong>: Folders that organize your Ion campaigns \u2013 highest level of organizational structure;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsive Grid<\/strong>: Element used to define the structure of content within different screen sizes. A responsive grid is pulled into a container to add columns into which content is published;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sandbox<\/strong>: Testing area created within Ion where concepts can be tried before pushed live;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scriptlet<\/strong>: A piece of custom Javascript code embedded in HTML-like JavaServer Pages (everything inside the &lt;%@ @%&gt; tags);<\/p>\n<p><strong>Standard Grid<\/strong>: Element used to define the structure of content. Grids are pulled into containers to add columns to the container into which content is published;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tag<\/strong>: Unique label given to an actionable element within Ion utilized to report clicks\/conversions at a given point in the Ion landing experience;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Theme<\/strong>: Overall look and feel for your Ion landing experiences;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Traffic Source<\/strong>: URL that controls\/directs live traffic to your Ion landing experience;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Widget<\/strong>: Portable code that can add interactive design elements and interactive tools to your Ion pages (i.e. Twitter feed, Facebook like button, calendar, etc.);<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Data Collection<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Choice Group:&nbsp;<\/strong>Component that can be dragged into a Freestyle Form container, in order to add checkboxes and radio buttons;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Choice Set<\/strong>: Group of options to be used on Ion forms that can be displayed as drop-downs, list boxes, radio buttons or checkboxes. Added to Ion under Integration &gt; Data Collection, they are comprised of choice names (as displayed on the form) and choice values (that will be saved into the ion database);<\/p>\n<p><strong>Choice Value<\/strong>: The data associated with a given choice set option and exported into a database;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Data Field<\/strong>: Designation of information to be collected from an Ion form;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Debug&nbsp;Email<\/strong>: Email sent to an Ion user (as specified) for testing purposes containing the data posted by Ion and response from the web form\u2019s server;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Delimited File<\/strong>: Excel-ready (.csv) file that is sent directly to your email address with respondent data;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Endpoint&nbsp;URL<\/strong>: The web address (URL) to which respondent data is sent via web form post;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Field Mappings<\/strong>: Collection of data fields that will be exported within an integration;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Formatted Email<\/strong>: Email export with defined data fields and subject line that can be delivered immediately or at a scheduled time;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Freestyle Form<\/strong>: Form that can be created while editing an ion page using creative studio;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Integration<\/strong>: The transference of respondent data from Ion to a receiver outside of ion (i.e. Salesforce, email address, web form, etc.);<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Testing\/Reporting<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Bubble Chart<\/strong>: Visual representation of traffic flowing through your Ion platform pages \u2013 with more traffic being driven through a given creative, the larger the bubble will be. With more conversions and bigger segmentation rates, the further to right and higher the bubble will be;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Capacity<\/strong>: Total number of unique respondents that can be stored in your Ion console;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Confidence<\/strong>: Level of how many creatives does Ion declares a \u201cwinner\u201d of a given test by removing the lesser performing creatives out of rotation \u2013 typically between 85-99%;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conversion<\/strong>: Visitors who complete the most important action in your Ion landing experience.&nbsp; The conversion event is defined by you.
